Meet Sophia, she is a 7-year-old spunky little girl who has battled cancer for quite some time. Sophia has never been out in the snow due to her illness – so you can imagine the joy, when we were able to send her family on a getaway to Wintergreen, to enjoy the snow for the first time. Thanks to Adipsy’s monthly sponsors and partners, we were able to give this little one a weekend she will never forget.
Adipsy worked with Adaptive Sports, who provided specially trained ski instructors and a bucket to take Sophia up and down the mountain on the slope. She was also able to go snow tubing with her parents. Here is what her mom had to say, “It meant so much to go on this amazing getaway and just relax and not focus on the daily grind of everything. When your family is going through such a stressful time, having a couple of days to get away, really helps you recharge your batteries! We will cherish the memory of our daughters face as the flew down the mountain. I haven’t seen her that happy or excited in a long time. Waking up in such a beautiful peaceful place was such a nice treat for us.”
